In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Carina was a slave owned by Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. the Collector. When the Guardians of the Galaxy brought an infinity stone to the Collector, Carina attempted to take it so that she would be free, but the power of the stone killed her.
