In the
Tangled franchise,
Queen Arianna was the queen of Corona and the mother of Princess Rapunzel. Her husband was King Frederic. She spoke French, and traveled extensively before marrying. She nearly died during her pregnancy with Rapunzel, but a magic flower created a medicine that saved her and Rapunzel, granting her daughter magical healing powers.
Arianna is an Italian variant of Ariadne, a Greek name that means 'most holy'. Ariadne was a the daughter of King Minos and wife of the god Dionysus in Greek mythology. In 2015, Arianna was the 56th most popular name for girls in the United States.
