José

In Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros, José Carioca was a Brazilian parrot that was friends with Donald Duck and Panchito Pistoles. When Donald and José first met, José took Donald on a tour of Brazil and taught him to Samba. After they met Panchito, the three went on a tour of Panchito's native Mexico. He has made small appearances in other Disney cartoons also. He once helped Minnie Mouse make Brazilian food for Mickey Mouse.

In the animated Disney channel series Phineas and Ferb, José Doofenshmirtz was the grandfather of Heinz Doofenshmirtz. His mother was Gretel Doofenshmirtz. He passed down Gretel's Doofenshmirtz Meatloaf recipe to Heinz.

José is the Spanish and Portuguese variant of Joseph, which itself is derived from the Old Testament Hebrew Yosef, which means 'he will add'. In 2015, José was the 80th most popular name for boys in the United States. It was also given to 11 girls.
