Naveen

In Disney's The Princess and the Frog, Prince Naveen was from the kingdom of Maldonia. He had a younger brother named Ralphie. Prince Naveen was spoiled. He never learned to do anything for himself, and his only interest was music. His parents were upset with his behavior, so they cut him off. Rather than get a job, he went in search of a rich woman to marry. When he visited New Orleans for Mardi Gras, he was cursed by a voodoo witch doctor Facilier who turned him into a frog. After he escaped from Doctor Facilier, he met Tiana at a party. Thinking she was a princess, he convinced her to kiss him, hoping to break the curse. Instead, she also turned into a frog. The two traveled together to try and break the curse. They failed, but fell in love in the process. When they were married by Mama Odie, Tiana became a princess. When they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the curse was broken. Naveen learned to be more responsible from the hard-working Tiana, and he helped her learn how to have a good time.

Naveen is a variant of the Sanskrit name Navin, which means 'new.' In 2014, 45 boys and 31 girls were named Naveen in the U.S.
