Charlotte

In the Disney animated film, The Princess and the Frog, Charlotte La Bouff was a good friend of Tiana's even though she came from a very wealthy family. When Prince Naveen came to town, she wanted to marry him just because he was a prince. She tried to help Tiana & Naveen break the curse by kissing him when she was 'Princess' of the Mardi Gras parade, but she was too late.

In Disney Channel's Sofia the First, Princess Charlotte of Isleworth was cursed when she refused to allow a goblin to attend her party. She was turned into a beast by a sorceress who was the goblin's friend. With Princess Sofia's help, Charlotte made friends with the goblin and redeemed herself, breaking the curse.

Charlotte is a feminine variation of the German name Charles, which means 'free man'. In 2015, Charlotte was the 9th most popular name for girls in the U.S.

Cinderella/Ella

Cinderella was Disney's second princess. Orphaned at a young age, Cinderella lived with her step-mother and two step-sisters, who treated her like a servant. Her real name was Ella, but her step-sister's named her Cinderella since she was often covered in cinders from sleeping too close to the fire. Her fairy godmother used magic so that she could attend a royal ball, where she met her prince.

In The Suite Life, Ella was a girl who dated Zack Martin for one episode.

In Camp Rock, Eliza "Ella" Pador was an airhead that sang backup for Tess. She had a talent in fashion design.

Ella is usually a shortened form of 'Eleanor' which is a German name that means, 'other, or foreign.' The Hebrew version of the name means 'goddess'. Ella was the 18th most popular name for girls in the United States in 2015. Cinderella last appeared in the Social Security Administration's name database in 2010, when it was given to 8 girls.

Elena

In the Disney Channel series, Elena of Avalor, Princess Elena was the crown princess of Avalor. She was trapped in an amulet by a sorceress for 41 years until she was freed by Princess Sofia of Enchancia. She was too young to be crowned Queen, so she was instead declared Crown Princess and ruled with a Grand Council. She lived with her sister, Princess Isabel, and her grandparents. Elena seems to have gained some magical abilities from spending so much time in the amulet, but the nature of them is unknown.

In Disney's Lilo & Stitch, Elena, along with Teresa and Yuki, was a girl who made fun of Lilo & Stitch.

Elena is a variant of Helen, which means torch, or corposant (another word for St, Elmo's fire). A common definition given is bright, or shining. In 2015, Elena was the 106th most popular name for girls in the United States.

Ariel rescued Prince Eric from a shipwreck and fell in love with him. She made a bargain with the sea-witch Ursula, in which she traded her voice for a pair of legs. Ursula continued to try and kill Ariel, but was killed by Prince Eric. When she died, all her prisoners were freed. Her father gave her legs, and she and Prince Eric were married.

Melody

In The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, Princess Melody was the daughter of Princess Ariel and Prince Eric. As a baby, she was threatened by Morgana, the sister of Ursula, so her parents built a sea wall around their castle and did everything to keep Melody from the sea. They hid her Atlantica roots from her. Melody couldn't resist the pull of the ocean, however, and she went off in search of answers. Morgana found her, and used Ursula's magic to temporarily turn her into a mermaid. She then tricked Melody into stealing King Triton's trident for her. After she gave the trident to Morgana, she realized her mistake. She turned back into a human while Morgana was focused on making the merfolk bow down to her. Melody was able to snatch the trident from Morgana and return it to King Triton, who imprisoned Morgana in ice. King Triton offered Melody the choice of staying human or coming to live in Atlantica with him. Melody chose to remove the sea wall instead, so they could all be together.

Melody Keep was a character in the Disney comic book series Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird. She was born into a family of wardens who were responsible for protecting supernatural artifacts. Her parents owned a shop called Keep it Weird, and she was a member of the school's lacrosse team. She had a brother named Maxwell.

Tiana

In The Princess and the Frog, Tiana was a young waitress who dreamed of owning her own restaurant someday. While catering a party for Charlotte La Bouff, she encountered Prince Naveen, who had been turned into a frog by a witch doctor. Naveen convinced her to kiss him, thinking that she was a princess and it would break the spell, but instead it turned her into a frog too. They traveled through the bayou to find Mama Odie for help. She told them that a kiss from a princess before midnight could break the spell. Since Charlotte's father was the King of the Mardi Gras parade, she was technically a princess for the day. They were unable to get to Charlotte in time, and remained frogs. Tiana and Naveen fell in love, and were married. When Naveen kissed his bride, Tiana, now a princess, broke the spell. Together, they opened Tiana's dream restaurant.

Tiana is a short form of Tatiana, which comes from the Roman family name Tatius. In 2014, Tiana was the 554th most popular name for girls.

Aurora

Disney's Sleeping Beauty was named Aurora. She was the daughter of King Stefan and Queen Leah. Princess Aurora was given gifts by three fairies at her birth. Flora gave her the gift of beauty and Fauna gave her the gift of song. Before the third gift could be bestowed, Maleficent arrived, and cursed her to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die before the sun set on her 16th birthday. Merryweather still had a gift to give, so she moderated the curse to cause her to fall into an enchanted sleep which could be broken by true love's kiss. She was taken from the castle to live with the fairies and she went by the name Briar Rose. Maleficent's curse was fulfilled, but Aurora was awoken by Prince Phillip. The story was altered a bit in Maleficent, and Aurora was instead awoken by Maleficent, who had come to love Aurora over the years.

Aurora was also the name of a toy telescope in the Disney Channel series, Doc McStuffins.

Aurora is a Latin name that means 'dawn.' Aurora was also the Roman goddess of the morning. Aurora ranked as the 116th most popular name for girls in 2014, the highest it's ever ranked. Aurora is also a good name for parents who like the nickname 'Rory.'
